Discussing the need for traceability and transparency when dealing with donations, Danny Curran, the Head of Fundraising and Commercial Service at the Irish Red Cross gives a high level overview of current processes and highlights a range of potential problems that organisations globally are facing.
To directly address these problems, AID:Tech is leveraging Blockchain technology to make transparent, traceable donations a reality.
“Financial transparency is at the core of AID:Tech’s model, but its particular platform allows aid organizations to trace the disbursement of anything from remittance payments to credit vouchers to relief goods to doctors’ visits.”
Since our pilot in Lebanon in 2015, AID:Tech and the Irish Red Cross have been working closely to develop this solution in question. Currently in development, it will soon become available on mobile and web.
“Following that successful test of AID:Tech’s system, the Irish Red Cross is moving forward with a bigger roll-out of the software across its donor platform.”
